There are 16 PBS Stations in the U.S. Broadcasting EastEnders

ATTENTION EastEnders Fans! Have we got a deal for you!EastEnders on KOCE Channel 50

KOCE knows that you can’t get enough of life in the East End. So we purchased the right to bring you EastEnders through June 2005, and then moved it to a great new time - Friday nights at 7:00 and 7:30 pm! But we need your help to keep it there.

If KOCE can raise enough to cover the cost of EastEnders before June, then we promise to renew EastEnders for another year and keep it at a great time on Friday nights. It’s that simple. But we need you to live up to your end of the bargain.

Please make a pledge of financial support to KOCE today. Your contribution will only be used to pay for EastEnders. And, all donors will automatically become members of KOCE and will receive the fun booklet "How to Speak EastEnders."

It’s up to you whether or not EastEnders stays on KOCE. Make a pledge today so that we can continue bringing you EastEnders every Friday for years to come!  Please make sure that you specify your pledge is for EastEnders!

A Message from Mel Rogers, President of KOCE-TV:

Dear Jan,

KOCE-TV, a PBS member station, was sold last year by the Coast Community College District to the KOCE-TV Foundation. Since then, the FCC has transferred the station's broadcast license to the KOCE-TV Foundation.

As owner of KOCE-TV and holder of KOCE's broadcast license, the KOCE-TV Foundation has overseen the continuation of KOCE's important educational services to students and teachers, provided additional funding for KOCE's quality primetime program schedule, which is increasingly popular throughout Southern California, and launched a spectacular 24/7 KOCE High-Definition Television Channel. Thanks to the KOCE-TV Foundation, KOCE is also in the early stages of planning a more comprehensive news and information service to better cover the many Orange County issues ignored by LA-based media.

To everyone's surprise, a California state appeals court on June 23 ruled the sale of the station by the Coast Community College District to the KOCE-TV Foundation was not valid. While the next steps are up to the Coast Community College District, the KOCE-TV Foundation will work to ensure the continuance of KOCE-TV's existing programming and services through the auspices of the KOCE-TV Foundation. In the meantime, should you wish to express your views about the future of KOCE, we ask that you contact the trustees of the Coast Community College District. Visit the district's Website at:

Please be assured that your support for KOCE-TV remains extremely valued and viable. Thanks to your support, KOCE-TV will move forward with its exciting plans to continue serving Orange County and Southern California.

Visit the web address below to tell your friends about this.  Tell-a-friend!  If you received this message from a friend, you can sign up for KOCE On-Line.
